Wagering requirements: the number that decides every bonus
A wagering requirement — also called rollover or playthrough — is the total amount you must stake before a bonus, or winnings from it, can be withdrawn. It is written as a multiplier: 35x, 40x and so on. Every other bonus term matters, but this is the one that turns a generous headline into a good or a poor deal. Example only: a €20 bonus with 35x wagering on the bonus means €700 of stakes. If the requirement applies to deposit plus bonus — say €20 + €20 — the figure becomes €1,400. Always check the base. Each stake counts towards the total once, whether it wins or loses.

These percentages are typical industry patterns, not Bacanaplay's figures. They exist because table games have a lower house edge. For a player who prefers the live casino, contribution is often the reason to decline a bonus.
Expected cost of wagering
A useful rule: expected cost ≈ total stakes × house edge. On a slot with 96% RTP, €700 of stakes has an expected cost of €28. If the bonus is €20, the average outcome is negative before you even consider variance. On a 97% RTP slot the expected cost drops to €21. RTP of the eligible games therefore changes the value of the same bonus — read the RTP in each game's rules.
Volatility and completion
High volatility spreads outcomes: more sessions bust early, a few finish with large balances. Low volatility tends to end nearer the expected result. If your aim is simply to complete wagering without losing the whole balance, low to medium volatility is more predictable. See our slots guide.
Time limit, bonus balance and max bet
- Time limit — unfinished wagering usually expires, taking the bonus and its winnings with it.
- Bonus balance — many casinos spend real money first and bonus money second; the order affects what you can withdraw if you stop.
