A quick worth-it test
Example only: a 50% reload on a €40 deposit adds €20. With a 30x wagering on the bonus, you need €600 of stakes. On a slot with a 96% RTP, the expected cost of €600 in stakes is about €24 (4% of €600). The expected cost is larger than the €20 bonus, so on average this example reload loses value — and that is before any restriction on live games. Change the numbers and the answer changes; the method stays the same: expected cost of wagering = stakes × (1 − RTP), compared with the bonus amount.
Volatility and the chance to finish
High-volatility slots make it more likely that the balance runs out before wagering is complete, and slightly more likely that a big hit carries you through.
