European roulette has 37 pockets (1–36 plus a single zero); American roulette has 38, adding a double zero. Payouts are the same on both, so the extra pocket raises the house edge from 1/37 ≈ 2.70% to 2/38 ≈ 5.26%. French roulette with the "la partage" rule returns half an even-money bet when zero lands, cutting the edge on those bets to about 1.35%. If a lobby offers several variants, the table's rules panel tells you which one you are at. There is no betting system that changes these figures.
Blackjack: rules change the edge
Blackjack is the one classic where your decisions matter. Playing basic strategy — the mathematically best action for every hand against every dealer card — brings the house edge down to around 0.5% under common rules. The single most important rule is the blackjack payout: 3:2 pays €15 on a €10 natural, 6:5 pays only €12, which roughly adds 1.4 percentage points to the edge. Other rules (dealer hits or stands on soft 17, doubling after splits, number of decks) move it by smaller amounts. Read the table rules before sitting down.
Baccarat: three bets, very different value
Baccarat asks you to back Banker, Player or Tie. Banker wins slightly more often, so a commission (usually 5%) is taken from banker wins; the resulting edge is about 1.06%. Player carries about 1.24%. Tie pays 8:1 and carries about 14.4% — one of the most expensive bets in the casino. Side bets vary. The game is simple and fast, which makes table choice and pace control important.

Look at the minimum bet and ask how many rounds your budget buys. With €30 and a €1 minimum, you have 30 even-money bets before variance even gets going; at €0.50 you have 60.
