Choose Visa in the cashier, enter the card number, expiry date and security code, then the amount. Your bank will usually ask you to approve the payment through 3-D Secure — a code or a confirmation in the banking app. Approve only payments you started yourself. Some banks block or flag gambling transactions; if a deposit is declined, the reason is often on the bank's side, and the bank can tell you.
Withdrawing to a Visa card
Whether winnings can go back to a Visa card depends on the operator and the card issuer. Where card payouts exist, they often cover only up to the amount deposited by card, with the rest going to a bank account in your name. Where they do not, the operator will ask for an alternative such as a bank transfer. Card verification is common: a photo of the card with the middle eight digits covered, plus your ID.
Debit or credit?
A debit card spends money you already have; a credit card spends money you will have to repay, sometimes with a cash-advance fee from the issuer because gambling transactions are treated differently from purchases. Several countries restrict credit-card gambling entirely. For budgeting, debit is the cleaner choice: the statement shows exactly what left the account.
A card budget that fits the tables
Because a card has no natural ceiling, set one. If your monthly entertainment budget is €120 and you like live blackjack at €2 a hand, that is roughly 60 hands a month — two sessions of 30. Put a €120 monthly deposit limit on the account and a €60 daily limit, and the card can no longer exceed the plan however the session goes. Slots work the same way: €60 at €0.20 is 300 spins. Operators licensed in Portugal must provide these limits.
